A Fundamental Need-Help Save Reading is Fundamental

The FY11 federal budget's plan eliminates the funding for Reading is Fundamental and its nationwide services which provides literacy support,training and access to free books to over 4.4 million children and their families...truly growing a generation of readers. Please  Contact your Congress member before March 5 and ask them to sign RIF's Dear Colleague letter.

RIF has been helping under served children and their families, who may not have access to books and reading resources, gain literacy skills and foster the love of reading since 1966 and is the oldest and largest literacy organization in the country. Last year RIF distributed over 15 million new free books inspiring the love of books and reading in kids through the excitement of actually owning their own books.
